This is my cart. I built it with my dad and brother. We worked very hard on it. It took 2 months to build. I rode it around the block, and I was very excited.
Dad says: It has a 250W Skooter motor, powered at 12V and 24V in 'turbo' mode (2 12V batteries), drum brake, and reverse (watch the video). A 24VDC motor controller was hooked up to a 'gas' pedal constructed from parts of a 'wah wah' pedal. The potentiometer from the motor controller was desoldered and rewired to the pedal construct.
The steering and pedal controls (brake and 'gas') were definitely the toughest to work out.
Chloe and Nick both cut and drilled the wood, as well as screwed and bolted pieces together. Chloe and I started it with some ideas and sketches, and it's remarkably close to those. Suffice it to say, Chloe is very familiar with the term 'prototype' now.
